Car Tire Maintenance, the “First Line of Defense” for Safety
Tires are the only parts of a car that touch the ground, and their condition is directly related to driving safety, so daily maintenance cannot be ignored. First of all, check the tire pressure regularly, it is recommended to check it once a month. Too high tire pressure will reduce tire grip and easily cause tire blowout; too low tire pressure will increase rolling resistance, consume more fuel and accelerate tire wear. The tire pressure should comply with the value marked on the vehicle door frame.
Secondly, pay attention to the tire wear. There is a wear limit mark on the tire surface (usually 1.6 millimeters). The tire must be replaced when it reaches the mark, otherwise it will easily slip in rainy days. At the same time, you can rotate the tires every 10,000 kilometers or so to make the four tires wear evenly and extend their service life.
In addition, avoid long-term exposure of tires to the sun, as high temperature will accelerate rubber aging; do not frequently run over curbs to prevent damage and bulging of the tire sidewall. Bulging tires have the risk of blowout and need to be replaced immediately. It is recommended that the service life of tires should not exceed 5 years. Even if the wear is not serious, the aged rubber will affect safety.
