Brake System Maintenance, Holding the Bottom Line of Safety
The brake system is the most important safety configuration of a car. Daily maintenance needs to be focused on to avoid major hidden dangers caused by ignoring small problems. First, regularly check the thickness of the brake pads. The recommended thickness of brake pads for family cars is not less than 3mm. If it is lower than this standard, it needs to be replaced in time, otherwise it will wear the brake disc and increase maintenance costs.
Secondly, check the brake fluid. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, and long-term use will mix with moisture, leading to reduced brake sensitivity and longer braking distance. It is recommended to replace the brake fluid every 2 years or 40,000 kilometers. When replacing, the air in the system must be completely drained.
During daily driving, if you find abnormal brake noise, soft or hard brake pedal, brake deviation, etc., you must stop the car immediately to check and drive again after troubleshooting. In addition, avoid frequent sudden braking, which can not only reduce the wear of brake pads but also protect other parts of the brake system.
