Correct Use of Car Transmission to Extend Service Life
Transmissions are divided into manual and automatic. Correct use can effectively extend their service life and reduce failures. For manual transmission models, step on the clutch to the bottom when shifting gears, avoid shifting gears in semi-linkage, otherwise it will wear the clutch plate and damage the transmission gears; do not park in semi-linkage for a long time, such as when waiting for a red light, it is recommended to put it in neutral and pull the handbrake to avoid overheating of the clutch plate.
For automatic transmission models, do not directly switch to P gear (parking gear) while driving. The P gear has a locking mechanism, and switching while driving will damage the locking mechanism. You need to park the car before putting it in P gear; when parking on a slope, pull the handbrake first, then put it in P gear to avoid the transmission bearing the weight of the car body and damaging the gears. In addition, do not coast in neutral for automatic transmission models. Coasting in neutral will lead to insufficient lubrication of the transmission and accelerate the wear of internal parts.
Whether it is manual or automatic transmission, the transmission oil needs to be replaced regularly. The replacement cycle of manual transmission oil is about 60,000 kilometers, and that of automatic transmission is about 80,000-100,000 kilometers. When replacing, you need to choose the transmission oil matching the vehicle to ensure the lubrication effect.
