Car Fuel Tank, Avoid These Misunderstandings
Many car owners have some misunderstandings when refueling, which will damage the car fuel tank and engine in the long run. First of all, do not wait until the fuel tank is empty to refuel. The fuel pump in the fuel tank is cooled by gasoline. If the fuel level is too low, the fuel pump cannot be fully cooled, which will accelerate the aging of the fuel pump and even burn it out. It is recommended to refuel in time when the fuel level is 1/4 remaining.
Secondly, do not overfill the fuel tank. If the fuel gun clicks off automatically when refueling, do not force refueling. Too much gasoline will overflow, corrode the car paint, and may also enter the carbon canister, causing damage to the carbon canister and increasing vehicle failures. In addition, choose gasoline with the label matching the vehicle. Higher label is not better. Refuel according to the label marked in the vehicle manual. Too high or too low label will affect engine performance and increase fuel consumption.
In addition, avoid refueling at noon in high temperature weather. High temperature will volatilize gasoline, which is not only a waste, but also may increase potential safety hazards. It is recommended to refuel in the early morning or evening when the temperature is low. For vehicles parked for a long time, it is recommended to fill the fuel tank to reduce the air in the fuel tank and prevent rust on the inner wall of the fuel tank.
